Dress #122 Memorial Day
Memorial Day. Red, white and blue with stars. Thank you to all have served our country in peace and in war. This dress is made from a cocktail napkin that I've been saving just for today.

Dress #120 Italian Lessons
I've spent many months in Paris, and thus subject to a great deal of French influence. Today's dress is in Italian, as I love all things Italian, too!

Dress #119 Coffee Seersucker Mini
Don't you think that the holders for your coffee cup look like a seersucker fabric? I realize now that it is the same concept as the fabric: texture the surface so that the heat is dispersed. Amazing what can dawn on you at the strangest times.

Dress #118 Summer Stars
This weekend is officially the first weekend of summer here in the United States. Since we commemorate our fallen in wars, the holiday has a red, white and blue theme. This dress fits that theme and would be great to wear to a holiday picnic. This dress is all paper.

Dress #117 Bon Mots
Today's dress has French and English words on the fabric, and Empire styling. Appropriate since my Dress #89 French Notebook was featured on the Facebook page for my favorite French fabric store! This fabric was created by scanning a sheet of scrapbooking paper, and printing on fabric.

Dress #116 Metal Mesh
I know this is impossible as a real dress, but I think the metal mesh looks almost feminine and wearable.

Dress #115 Dragonflies
Traditionally, a border print is cut to put the border on the hem of the skirt. For this dress, I used the bottom of the border to fall at the waist of the bodice. The ombre fabric, combined with the border, yields a dress I really like. Fabric scanned, reduced in scale, and printed on fabric.

Dress #114 Black Polished Cotton
In my experiments to find ways to communicate different fabrics, I found this polished cotton. Actually it is tissue paper, and that opens lots of possibilities.

Dress #113 Measuring Up
I love how embossed paper looks and feels, so I used it for the skirt of this dress. Good for a math teacher, maybe?

Dress # 111 Full Metal Jacket Dress
This dress doesn't look very wearable, but I was intrigued by the play on words. Metal cans provided the "fabric" embossed for a more metal look.

Dress #110 Green Grass Blue Sky
What a beautiful spring we've had here in the Mid-Atlantic region! The sky is so blue, and the grass is so green. I love Mother Nature's color combination.

Dress #108 Black Chiffon
Today's dress is a short cocktail dress in a black floral print. The "fabric" is another of the new ruffle "yarns." Love the print, but I think it might become a trim on something rather than a ruffly scarf.

Dress #106 Banana
When Jeff noticed I was saving banana peels, he asked why. When I said "Guess!" he replied "Oh, no! If you can make a dress out of a banana peel, you get a gold star." What do you think? Do I get the gold star?

Dress #105 Pink and Blue
I have this really great double-faced ribbon: pink on one side, blue on the other. Obviously, it is great for baby gifts, but I used it for today's dress as well. A sweet little prom dress, perhaps?

Dress #104 Ombre Blocks
Ombre colors are quite popular this season, so this ombre block print fits the trend. Styling is more autumnal, but after all, it is fall moving into winter down under.

Dress #102 Matchstick Girl
Remember the stories of the little matchstick girl? Here's a little girl's dress made of matchsticks. It is about 4" tall.

Dress #101 Gala at the Met
Tonight is the Costume Institute Gala at the Metropolitan Museum of Art. One could wear this dress, although most are more glitzy. Technically, this dress is made of a new novelty yarn designed for knitting a ruffly scarf. I'll use it for trim on a sweater rather than a scarf.

Dress #100 Black and White
I'm always surprised at how pleasing black and white with a touch of red can be. This is just a simple dress, but the red gives some panache.

Dress #99 Run for the Roses
In honor of the Kentucky Derby today, a fabric printed with roses and a gray and yellow color scheme. What's not to like?

Dress #98 Audrey
On this date in 1929, Audrey Hepburn was born in Belgium. She was always elegant and stylish. This dress, inspired by Breakfast at Tiffany's, celebrates one of her most iconic images.

Dress #97 Blue and Yellow
Two of my favorite fabrics put together for a little sundress; perfect for a warm and sunny day like today!

Dress #96 It's a Wrap
A tailored wrap dress for today. A bit dark and somber, but just like the weather today. A good business dress.

Dress #95 May Pole
The idea of dancing around a May pole to intertwine the ribbons is such a romantic concept, but I must admit I've never seen one. It seems to me that this would be the perfect dress to wear to the festivities.
