Dress #353 Louvre Fence

There is a fence at the Louvre that I've always loved. This dress is inspired by that fence however tenuous it might seem to the casual onlooker. Silk dupioni. gold bobbin work, and some trim to mimic the fleur de lis on the fence. Here's a link to a photo of the fence so you can see...

  1. I like that the lines ends in fringes..

  2. Now that's an interesting inspiration! When I first saw the dress and the title, I thought of the fence and gate around Buckingham Palace. Very similar idea. The bobbin work is lovely, and the natural fringe is like grass at the bottom of the fence. I just love the fleur de lis. Can you top this?!

    1. I'm so delighted that you immediately saw the connection! I was quite pleased with the translation from my head to the dress. Who knows what the last few dresses will be? I really don't plan too many in advance, although I have a couple of ideas that I'd like to execute before the end.

  3. Very fun concept and execution...would one have to maintain a head stand to be accurate?
