Dress #4 Origami

Another origami dress....this one, I like better. Prettier paper, smaller paper, better textured paper, easier-to-fold paper. I'd even like a real dress like this one.

Dress #3 Coke Can

This uses a technique I've wanted to try for some time. I flattened a Coke can (no, I didn't drink it) ran it through the Sizzix with an embossing folder, colored with alcohol inks, and then just cut out a dress shape with a ribbon belt. I like this, but think it can be improved. I have many more chances to do that!

Dress #2 Fruit Dress

I was gifted with a wonderful fruit basket from Edible Arrangements for my birthday. (Thank you, California Grossmans!) As I was disassembling it---and eating the strawberries---before putting in the refrigerator, I remembered to make a dress.

Dress #1 Paris Origami

This is the dress that started me thinking about all the different ways I could make a dress. The YouTube video showed up on my radar this December while I was in Paris, and I went right out and bought Origami paper. The selection I found wasn't that nice, and it was big---8" by 8"--and rather ugly, don't you think? Let's see how the year evolves. Goal

As a result of reading "365:A Daily Creative Journal: Make Something Every Day and Change You Life!" by Noah Scalin, I stepped up to the challenge. This blog will track my progress and document my work. Look for the first post on January 28th, my birthday, and continue until my birthday in 2013. Rules? There are none. I can spend 10 minutes folding an origami dress, or 20 hours (over several days) creating a dress that a woman (or a girl) can actually wear. Sometimes I'll use the challenges in the above book---sometimes I'll use other prompts---sometimes the dress will be fugitive, lasting only in the post photo---sometimes I'll actually wear it. Here we go!
